What is a “Carton Coder” and is it what you need?
A carton coder is a printing device that adds product identification or late stages variable information to the outside of a shipping carton. Variable information printing can be of many different varieties ranging from a simple Production Date, Batch Number and Expiration Date to a complex 2 dimensional high density code or other type of bar code. Variable information can be required on almost any product, in some form, ranging from cases of beer, to pharmaceutical packaging, to a carton of bakery muffins, to a carton of pasta, to a carton of cans of soda. The secret to successful carton coding is that many of these applications require differing print technologies to meet the need to print on different materials and/or shapes. Our Carton Coding products encompass different carton coding technologies that can address a wide range of applications.
