Square and rectangle containers are the norm in many retail, pharmaceutical and manufacturing settings and because of that, product labelers have been specifically designed for these packages. As such, products with three and four panel label applications on square and rectangular containers have become more common.
Re-Pack Inc. has designed a line of labeling systems specifically for these applications. The Re-Pack three and four panel label applicator can apply a label to one panel and wipe it around to the two adjoining panels, or wrap it completely around the container onto all four sides.
To accomplish the task, the product is placed on a conveyer and fed into a metering/spacing device before traveling to the labeling station. The label is pre-dispensed, held in place by a movable “saloon door” device, and the label is partially applied as it moves through this part of the process. Once it’s partially applied, the container travels to a secondary station where label application to the remaining panels is completed
To further demonstrate the system flexibility, the ability to quickly change from 3 or 4 panel application to single panel or wrap label application has been designed into the system. This makes these labelers functional across many industries and package shapes.
Industries which typically use this type of multi-panel labelling system include:
- Automotive
- Beverage
- Building products
- Consumer goods
- Cosmetics
- Electrical components
- Food
- Hardware
- Healthcare
- Medical devices
- Pharmaceutical
- Safety goods
