Manufacturing companies that need to print labels on their products need to first determine whether they need to print on the top or the bottom of the product or need a wrap-around system. As the professionals at Griffin-Rutgers explain there are automatic labeling systems to address each print type.
Griffin-Rutgers carries a complete line of both top and bottom labelers in table top semi-automatic or conveyor belt systems. The semi-automatic labeler system has both a base and a platform with labeling heads. The product that will be printed on is inserted into the system and the label applicators are activated to affix the labels to the top of the product.
If your process requires product to be moved through the manufacturing process on a conveyor belt, as is usually found in the food industry, there are systems available that address that procedure. The product is moved down the conveyor and the label head is mounted on the top of the printer. The top label is applied once the product moves through the system.
Top feeder labels are typically used in the following industries:
- Automotive
- Beverage
- Consumer goods and electronics
- Cosmetics
- Food
- Healthcare
- Medical devices and pharmaceutical
- Publishing
Top feeder label systems can print on bottles or jars and cartons and trays.
If the product upon which you need to print is small and unstable, and difficult to print upon, there are dual hugger top labelers available. In these print system, the hugger belts capture the product on both sides, leaving the top and bottom of the container exposed for the application of the label.
